| We took
British Airways ‘Club World’ Business Class from Europe to the US with the intention of relaxing a few days in the Hamptons on the East Coast and then driving into the thrill of Las Vegas, with the Four Seasons as our base. Las Vegas welcomed us with an awesome view of ‘The Strip’ and the pulse of the most attractive gambling city in the world. Our limo driver was expecting us and to our surprise we arrived in less than fifteen minutes at the main entrance to the hotel that had become highly recommended to us. Previous guests had touted: "If
you want a luxurious and relaxing Las Vegas experience and stay in close
proximity to the casinos and the nightlife, that’s the Four Seasons.“
Check-in was unconventional for lack of better words. The friendly front desk
person pointed to one of the elevators that should lift us into the upper
thirties. The Four Seasons Las Vegas is ‘sharing’ a hotel building
with The Mandalay Bay, a hotel-casino owned by the MGM Mirage. The upper top
five floors of the main hotel are occupied by the kid-friendly Four Seasons
Hotel, and it has its own entrance, private pool as well as a fabulous spa. We
found it to be an intimate, classy oasis amidst the flashy excitement of Sin
City. |

| We arrived at our spacious
accommodations, of which the guest rooms average five hundred square feet and
offer large marble bathrooms with soaking tubs and separate glass enclosed
showers. On the counters were placed L'Occitane toiletries. The suites were
furnished and decorated in traditional classy, comfortably chic style, although
our accommodations left some maintenance issues to be addressed. Most
accommodations offer truly spectacular views of ‘The Strip’ and the
surrounding desert. |

| The eight thousand square foot family friendly outdoor
pool area, which is surrounded by lush landscape, offers whirlpools and decks
equipped with arbors for shade. Evian mists, cold towels and ice water are on
hand in intervals of half an hour, so are cucumber slices for the eyes and
freshly sliced, iced fruit. |

| We dined at the Charlie Palmer Steak, a charming steak
lovers restaurant located off the Four Seasons’ main lobby, an experience
one should not miss. This steak cuisine still has to find it’s match and
reservations are highly suggested. We also dined at the Verandah, which turned
out to be an even more informal dining experience. This casual, pretty
Mediterranean style restaurant, overlooking the lush gardens and the Four
Seasons’ pool, is in the process of conversion. Overall this hotel
genuinely represents the essence of the Four Seasons philosophy. The hotel is
famous for its non- gaming, private setting and surroundings. The Four Seasons
may not be the best hotel for people that just want to gamble, but it provides
a true oasis for those who want to relax, making it easy to access any other
points of interest. |
