| Visiting Frankfurt am Main, the metropolis in Southern
Germany is a treat. Though traffic was intense, I still couldn’t help but
dwell upon how fascinating a place Goethe’s city is. I had been torn
between residing at the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof and the Hotel Hessischer
Hof, which came both highly recommended, but decided to try the later due to
the fact that this hotel is still owned by the ‘Family Foundation of the
Barons and Princesses von Hessen’. The Hotel Hessischer Hof is located in
close proximity to the famous expo grounds and some of the city’s
historical highlights. It’s façade appears confidently sleek, but
inviting, while the front desk lobby is distinctively traditional. Check-in was
quick and professional and the accommodations, at first glance, were
inviting. |

| The interior designer combined
clean loft style functionality with semi-traditional decoration techniques. The
bathroom was spacious, in perfect condition and well equipped, though there was
a problem with the drainage in the shower. Guests of the Hotel Hessischer Hof
have access to the Mainhattan Sports Club right next to the hotel, which also
includes the full schedule of fitness classes. The level of well-rehearsed and
genuinely caring service is what made this Hotel Hessischer Hof a good choice.
Though the turndown service left something to be desired, GM Eduard M. Singer
apologized for the oversight. |

| “You will hardly find another German city that is
quite as vibrant and full of life as this metropolis on the river Main. The
town's landmarks like the continuously growing skyline, the stock exchange and
the town hall „Römer“ are all world-famous. But in addition to
that there are many other highlights waiting to be discovered. A visit to the
city's green lung, the „Palmengarten“, a shopping spree on the classy
„Goethestraße“ or the vibrant „Zeil“ are definitely
among them. Friends of the arts can indulge in their interests at one of
Europe's leading opera houses, the many theatres or the various museums of the
„Museumsufer“ with their renowned exhibitions. Frankfurt's
hospitality is best enjoyed in one of the towns many rustic pubs
(Apfelweinschänken) where the locals meet for a pint of the region's
typical apple cider.” |
