Hotel Hoffmeister
Hotel Hoffmeister
Prague, Czech Republic
5 Stars and 4 Stripes
Extraordinary - Merit
January 2005
5 Stars & 4 Stripes
Overall - 'Hotel & Service'
The Ultimate Award:
Seven Stars and Stripes®
An authentically superbly restored family residence is the Hotel Hoffmeister, a historic gem that appeals to visitors from around the world who want to experience the golden city of Prague. This most charming hotel mirrors the history, culture and romance of Prague while offering understated luxury with top notch service. Conveniently located right in the heart of the historic city and close to the famous steps that are leading to Prague's historic Castle, Hotel Hoffmeister is part of the Mala Strana quarters, an area protected by UNESCO. But one of Hotel Hoffmeister's most impressive assets is the inspiring wellness cave spa with its antic stonebath. Ms. Lenny Vogels the lovely Marketing Director welcomed us with as smile that roots back to centuries of true European hospitality, a trade that is hers and the Hoffmeisters' family trade. General Manager Mr. Martin Hoffmeister is third generation hotelier and most knowledgeable in hid trade. Our accommodations where fairy tale at best, freshly cut flower sense filled the uniquely designed rooms and suites that were equipped with fine down filled duvet covers and custom designed linens.
Nothing, absolutely nothing would the discrimination guest miss in the luxurious hotel. Simone was very impressed with the quality of the hotel amenities. But most important to us was the lavish Wellness Center that is to be found in a 15th century cave and separate facilities for ladies and gentlemen, offering an a la carte menu of treatments and indulgences featuring old traditional and new European therapies. But each couple gets the chance for a half hour of relaxations alone in the hot tub spa cave; inspiring that was. Thorsten Piosczyk & Mr. Martin Hoffmeister
While Simone was unpacking our Rimowa make up case I had to nibble from the most delicious home made cookie tray. Then we went for a walk on cobblestone streets, passing fancy European shops, gourmet restaurants and other architectural treasures reflected in the music and magic that makes Prague. For centuries, gifted composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Dvorák, and Schubert created unmatched musical legacies of resounding concerts, memorable symphonies, and sonorous operas, still heard in concert halls around the world today. This historic establishment, formerly called the Tyl Theater, saw the triumphant debut of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni in 1787. Just steps away is the Old Town Square that dates back to the 11th century and has been restored to its Gothic and Renaissance glory. The most impressive baroque Church of St. Nicholas is dominating the square. One can't find a more superb location for a trip back to the past.

Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt
The elegant pool and spa facilities and sumptuous breakfast buffet at the EssTisch the next morning is alone worth the stay. The accommodations we had booked turned out to be a tastefully furnished junior suite with views over a park that was expertly kept...

Yanqi Lake Hotel
Just a half hour from Beijing is a place like no other. A place where the sky is wide and the business of the throbbing city becomes distant and unreal. Yanqi Lake, located on the foothills of the stunning Yanshan Mountains and surrounded by a diversity of picturesque trees, is the place where...

Burj Al Arab
Our arrival at Burj Al Arab was of true Seven Star style. Four lovely hostesses and a host welcomed us in the tradition of Jumeirah - with warm smiles, cold towels, Arabian coffee, sweet dates and chilled rosewater. Much has been written about the decorative style of Burj Al Arab...
